Intralesional Steroid Injection

Although considered to be a standard treatment for many skin disease, Intralesional Steroid Injection (ILS), is particularly administered for acne cysts. This is essentially because of its ability to treat a dermal inflammatory process directly. And in contrast to topical treatment ILS bypass the barrier of a thickened stratum corneum and reduces the chance of skin thickening by a large margin, which is especially considered of importance amongst young adults.
